Diagnostics Autoimmune disease and Chronic fatigue syndrome
1) What is autoimmune disease ?

Immune reaction is self protecting response against harmful body invaders such as virus, bacteria, foreign body etc. Once immune reaction initiated, cascade of various humoral and cell mediated immunity defeat invaders and repair damaged tissue from immune mediated inflammation. Autoimmune diseases are caused from false, exaggerated immune response against normal body tissue, resulting wide range of tissue damage. Precise etiology of autoimmune disease are still unknown. We postulate that some kind of virus or bacteria may alter antigenicity of normal tissue to highly antigenic substance, causing inflammation in normal body tissue. The followings are major autoimmune diseases : Rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren syndrome, Systemic lupus erythematosus, Behcets disease, Systemic sclerosis, Ankylosing spondylitis, Psoriasis, Hashimoto thyroiditis, Ulcerative colitis, Crohns disease, idiopathic glomerulonephritis etc. # We currently manage special clinic for patients with (suspected, confirmed) autoimmune disease. Experienced responsible physician provides a variety of treatment modality such as biological response modifier drug(TNF-a blocker etc.)

2) Chronic fatigue syndrome

Definition : severe fatigue which cause disability of daily activities lasts for more than 3 months.

How do we do with it? We try to provide best diagnostic procedures to find out the cause of fatigue as possible. The diagnostic procedure should be individualized because every human-being is different and unique(age, races, gender etc.).
